James Corden And Seth Rogen take ‘The Lion King’ To LA Streets

OK – we thought we’d celebrate the fantastic rise of James Corden in the US one more time.

Since taking over from Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show last year, Corden has encouraged some of the world’s biggest celebrities to do some pretty ridiculous things. He played ping pong with Susan Sarandon and booty-called Leonardo DiCaprio from J-Lo‘s phone and even brought together current internet fave Chewbacca Mom and Star Wars VII director, JJ Abrams. Yes, this is Smithy from Gavin and Stacey we’re talking about.

Earlier this week Corden picked stars of new comedy Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, to be his victims.

In the ten minute sketch, Corden introduces Rogen and Byrne to his team of street performers and gleefully announces that they will be performing hit Broadway musical The Lion King… on the street. Byrne, a former Broadway actress was thrilled to be performing live again. Seth Rogen was less impressed.

After some brief rehearsals and Rogen getting cast in the pivotal role of ‘tree/scenery’ the whole ensemble take to the corner of Genesee and Beverly to wow the passing traffic with renditions of “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”, “Hakuna Matata”, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “The Circle Of Life”.
