FLASHBACK! Ireland’s Booze Up Video

What happened to Damo & Ivor? – the rich/poor duo created and starring writer / actor Andy Quirke in both roles.  ‘They’ burst onto the comedy scene in Ireland and went on to produce two hugely successful TV series of the same name for RTE.

If you didn’t know – Andy is son to a millionaire father and his brother Wesley is married to ex Miss World Rosanna Davidson – daughter of singer / writer Chris de Burgh

In 2011 Andy’s song and video, “EVERYBODY’S DRINKIN’ debuted on The Republic of Telly – the longest running and most successful comedy programme on Irish public broadcaster RTE Two. The video went viral and gained over 70,000 hits in under a week. It has now over 2m views.

The song which is an attack on Dublin’s drinking culture resembles David Guetta’s ‘Sexy Chick’ and tells the story of a drunken night out from characters on both sides of the ‘tracks’ – rich and poor in other words. It is included on Damo & Ivor’s album EPIC CHOONS released on iTunes.

EVERYBODY’S DRINKIN’ has attracted some criticism with one journalist calling it an “expensively produced, booze-sodden, bikini model-infested video homage to binge-drinking’.

Have a look and make-up your own mind.

FYI The video cost €2,500. For those non Irish viewers we regret to say there are no subtitles!
