The Nightly Show premiered last night on 3e.
The ITV show aired at 10pm and will set to run for eight weeks with a different celebrity presentinge each week.
Comedy actor and best selling author David Walliams has taken on the challenge of hosting the first week of the brand new chat show. The first guests to appear on the show were actor Martin Clunes and comedienne Nina Conte. Other guest hosts take the chair for the next 7 weeks and at the end of the experiment ONE of the 8 will be chosen to host it full time.
The producers of The Nightly Show advertised online in January for “fun enthusiastic people”, who were challenged: “Do you want to surprise a friend or family member with a hilarious prank? … Do you want to interact with your favourite celebrity? … Or is there something in your life that become the next viral sensation? A hidden talent, an embarrassing family member, or even just a pet with a party trick?”
The first episode didn’t receive a great response however from it’s viewers who took to twitter to vent their anger.
Most of the comments disapprove of Walliams as a host so we wonder will other weeks do better with different presenters? So far the celebrities slated present in other weeks include John Bishop, Gordon Ramsay, Mel & Su and Davina McCall with more to be announced.
Jury’s out – we’re staying in!
