It has been 10 years since Chris Rock has released a comedy special.
Police officers and pilots: Two jobs where being a bad apple just isn’t an option. Chris Rock’s brand new stand-up special, Tamborine, is now streaming. Only on Netflix.
Rock’s last release was HBO’s “Kill the Messenger” in 2008. A lot has changed since 2008. At the time he was still married and Barack Obama was running for president.
Now he has released his Netflix special ‘Tamborine’ in which he understandably covers topics like cheating on his wife, divorce and porn addiction to race relations to bullying. This is a stripped back version of Chris Rock, no flashy suits or performances. It’s just Chris in jeans and a t-shirt with a raw set based on some of the most painful times in his life.
He opens his set with the line “You’d think every once in a while the cops would shoot a white kid just to make it look good.” Which just braces you for what is to come.
