TV News: The President Show

In the reign of Trump it’s very hard to avoid making jokes about the President of the USA.

Comedy Central have announced a new weekly comedy show called ‘The President Show’.  Impersonator Anthony Atamanuik will play Donald Trump. He has featured on shows such as the “Trump vs. Bernie” tour, the Bitch Sesh podcast, and the TV show The View.

“Laughing at the President is a proud American tradition and we hope not to disappoint anyone in that department,” Atamanuik said. “But our political system is too broken for us to be content joking about one man, even though he is a disastrous silly little toddler boy. Mostly I’d just like to thank Comedy Central for giving us this platform to speak truth to power and if we’re lucky, end up in prison!”

The comedy will follow in the foot steps of other late night tv shows with guest interviews, vox pops and desk segmentsPeter Grosz will play his sidekick as “Mike Pence.”

“Just like a certain chief executive in Washington,” a Comedy Central press release puts it, “The President Show gleefully tosses out the rulebook of its predecessors.”
The President Show premieres April 27 at 11:30/10:30c on Comedy Central.
