Comedians Announced for Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents

 Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents is Comedy Central’s show dedicated to stand up comedians.

It gives comedians half hour stand up specials. These half-hour specials showcased some of the best up-and-coming comedians of the moment. The show has been a pivotal stepping stone for many of today’s stand-up stars, including Louis C.K., Dave Chappelle, Patton Oswalt, Amy Schumer, Jim Gaffigan, Kevin Hart, Zach Galifianakis, Dane Cook, Bill Burr, Wanda Sykes and Maria Bamford.

This year the half hours were taped at the end of the Spring and now the network has released the schedule of when the half hours will premiere and a brief bio on each new act.

Here is the schedule and what to expect from each of the comedians.

SEPTEMBER 15th
Chris Redd is stand-up comedian/writer/actor from Chicago. He stars as “Dank” on the Netflix comedy Disjointed.

 

Yamaneika Saunders is a former panelist on The Meredith Vieira Show and can be heard weekly on her podcast Rantin’ and Ravin’ with Yamaneika and Chloe.

 

SEPTEMBER 22nd
Shane Torres is a New York-based stand-up, writer, host, and actor from Texas via Portland. He made his late-night debut on Conan in 2016 and made an appearance on Uproarious for Fuse.

 

Jenny Zigrino has performed stand up on Conan and Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party.

 

SEPTEMBER 29th
Casey James Salengo is an NYC-based comedian originally hailing from the Adirondack Mountains. He can be seen on the upcoming season of Fuse’s Uproarious, and recently performed stand-up on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

 

Jo Firestone is a comedian based in Brooklyn, NY who recently joined The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as a staff writer.

 

OCTOBER 6th
Anthony DeVito is an NYC-based comedian. He recently made his network-television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and has also appeared on Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live and Seeso’s New York’s Funniest.

 

Julio Torres is a Brooklyn-based comedian who moved to NYC. In 2013, Julio (@juliothesquare) was a finalist NBC’s Stand-Up for Diversity showcase, and then was named one of Comedy Central’s 2014 “Comics to Watch.” Julio can also be seen on Louis CK’s Horace & Pete and HBO’s High Maintenance, and recently performed stand up on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

 

OCTOBER 13th
Josh Johnson was most recently was featured on Kevin Hart’s Hart of the City on Comedy Central, and was named one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” in 2015. He is a former writer/performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also made his late-night stand-up debut earlier this year.

 

Sam Jay recently made her late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and is fresh off a standout performance in the Just For Laughs festival’s “New Faces” showcase.

 

OCTOBER 20th
Joel Kim Booster is a Chicago-bred, Brooklyn-based comedian and writer. As a comedian he has appeared on Conan, Comedy Central’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, Logo’s Comedy Cabaretand truTV’s Comedy Knockout.

 

Solomon Georgio burst out of the Seattle comedy scene with his own brand of irreverence, flawlessly intertwining biting social commentary with stories of his life as an openly gay African immigrant. Solomon made his television debut as a featured comedian on Conan. As an actor, he will appear in the upcoming IFC series Ball or Nothing, the Comedy Central web series White Flight, and Adam Ruins Everything.

 

OCTOBER 27th
Adam Cayton-Holland is a national touring comic who has appeared on Conan@midnight with Chris HardwickThe Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, The Pete Holmes ShowHappy Endings, DeadbeatFlophouseHidden America and was named one of Esquire’s “25 Comics to Watch” as well as one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch.”e.
