Series 1 of Can’t Cope Won’t Cope aired in Ireland on RTE last September and has been a huge hit!
Now BBC3 have just announced that they have acquired Deadpan Pictures Irish comedy-drama from Line of Duty distributor Content Media
Delighted writer Stefanie Preissner took to twitter to share the news:
The six part series stars Amy Huberman, Irish newcomer Seána Kerslake and Nika McGuigan. It revolves around the lives of two twenty-something year old girls from Cork who are living in Dublin and things start to spiral out of control.
Preissner has said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to bring the show to a bigger audience especially the Irish people in the U.K. who missed it.”
She announced earlier this year that she has begun writing the second season.
Thrilled to be able to announce that I'm *currently* writing season 2 of Can't Cope Won't Cope -thank you all so much for watching & liking https://t.co/w1k9AkB9CU

“I’m in the middle of writing season 2 now which is a tricky process so this news is really spurring me in to make a cracking second season for RTÉ viewers.”
However, it is not certain if Amy Huberman will continue on with the series. While the new season has been confirmed Amy is a busy woman. She has a lot of other projects lined up which may interfere with the show so it may be unlikely for her to return.
Sue Deeks, Head of Programme Acquisition at the BBC described the comedy as”the perfect mix of humorous, heartfelt performances and fresh, sharp writing that manages to be both laugh-out-loud funny and incredibly poignant”.
“The opportunity to bring the voice and experience of young Irish women to a larger audience is fantastic,” Preissner said.“The team on Can’t Cope Won’t Cope’ did an amazing job capturing that voice and I hope that the BBC Three audience love it.”
Exact BBC3 TX dates to be confirmed.
