There is a lot to look forward to this August when it comes to comedy on Netflix.
Here is a list of some of the best comedy coming to Netflix from classic movies to animated adult shows.
August 1st: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
A classic. Directed by Ken Hughes and starring Dick Van Dyke, Lionel Jeffries, Gert FrÖbe, Benny Hill, James Robertson Justice. An eccentric professor invents wacky machinery, but can’t seem to make ends meet. When he invents the revolutionary car, a foreign government becomes interested in it, and resort to skulduggery to get their hands on it.
The love life of Charlotte is reduced to an endless string of disastrous blind dates, until she meets the perfect man, Kevin. Unfortunately, his merciless mother will do anything to destroy their relationship.
August 3rd: Like Father
August 10th: Insatiable
Insatiable is the story of a disgraced civil lawyer-turned-beauty pageant coach takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client. There has been a lot of controversy coming up to the release of this show so we’ll just have to wait and see.
August 17th: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is an upcoming American teen romance film directed by Susan Johnson, based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Jenny Han.
Disenchantment is a new animated series from the creator of The Simpsons, Matt Groening.
August 22nd: The Secret Life of Pets
The quiet life of a terrier named Max is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes.
August 26th: Bad Moms
In this comedy from the grateful husbands and devoted fathers who wrote The Hangover, Amy has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap.
August 30th: Bridget Jones’s Baby
The first movie Bridget Jones’s Diary was released in 2001 and now 15 years later she’s back. Breaking up with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) leaves Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger.) over 40 and single again. Feeling that she has everything under control, Jones decides to focus on her career as a top news producer. Suddenly, her love life comes back from the dead when she meets a dashing and handsome American named Jack (Patrick Dempsey). Things couldn’t be better until Bridget discovers that she is pregnant. Now, the befuddled mom-to-be must figure out if the proud papa is Mark or Jack
August 31st: Paradise PD
