A Futile And Stupid Gesture Is Coming To Netflix

David Wain’s National Lampoon movie, “A Futile And Stupid Gesture” is coming to Netflix in January.

A Futile and Stupid Gesture is an upcoming American biographical film based on Josh Karp’s book of the same name, directed by David Wain, and written by Michael Colton and John Aboud.

David Wain has been working on a movie about National Lampoon founder Doug Kenney. It will star Will Forte as the title character He will play a tragic character who was one of the creative team behind the National Lampoon magazine and also co-wrote the screenplay for Animal House and Caddyshack. He died from unknown causes in  Hawaii.

The movie will also star Paul Scheer, Tom Lennon, Domhnall Gleeson, Natasha Lyonne, Joel McHale, Jackie Tohn and Jon Daly.

Joel Mchale will play Chevvy Chase in the movie who was good friends with Kenney. Mchale should have no problem getting familiar with Chase as he starred alongside him for 6 years in the American sitcom Community. 

It will debut on Netflix on Friday, January 26th.
