White Men Can’t Jump was released in 1992.
The original was written and directed by Ron Shelton, starring Wesley Simpson and Woody Harrelson. It’s about two street basketball hustlers who join together to make an unlikely team. The title based on the fact that Woody’s character can’t dunk the ball.
THR has just announced that a remake of the classic is in the works. Kenya Barris, Black-ish creator is set to write and produce the film. Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin and American footballer Ryan Kalil are on board also. It has not been said whether Griffin who has various comedic acting experiences will be starring in the film yet. Watch the video below where he stars in a Space-Jam inspired commercial last year.
