Moon Dogs Is Coming To Irish Cinemas

The coming-of-age comedy will be released in Irish cinemas from September 1st.

Moon Dogs is about a road trip where Michael (Jack Parry Jones) and his step brother Thor (Christy O’Donnell) travel South from Scotland. On this epic road trip they meet an Irish girl who they both end up falling for.

The cast features Welsh actor Jack Parry-Jones (Da Vinci’s Demons, Back to Zero); Irish actress and talented singer/songwriter Tara Lee (The Fall, Raw, Jimi: All Is by My Side, The Odd Life of Timothy Green) and Scottish actor and musician Christy O’Donnell (Clique) with a stand out supporting cast featuring Dennis Lawson, Tam Dean Burn, Niall Greig Fulton, Chris Donald, Tanya Franks, Geoffrey Newland and Shauna Macdonald.

Moon Dogs premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June 2016. It won Best International First Feature at Galway Film Fleadh and was BAFTA Scotland nominated, BIFA longlisted, and was selected as Best of the Fest at EIFF 2016.

It has also garnered standout support from Irvine Welsh “Not one, not two but three stars are born in this beautiful movie” and Screen Daily: “Delightful…Coming-of-Age Comedy.”

The director Philip John said: “Making a film is like bringing up a child. You love her, you dress her well, you teach her honesty then you boot her out the door so she can spread the word that rebellion is good.”

MOON DOGS is released in Irish cinemas September 1, 2017.
