Audio: Colm O’Regan Wants A Bleedin’ Word

Colm O’Regan Wants A Bleedin’ Word – a whistle-stop tour of slang and bad language within all classes and regions of Ireland.

This is the RTE Radio 1 PPI & Celtic Media award winning comedy show that takes a humorous funny tour around the brain of the top selling writer and performer as he talks about one of his favourite subjects – our use of language.

In this show learn about slang, where it came from and what it really means. We also imagine a world where there is such thing as official Grammar Police.

Sketches are performed by brilliant comedy actors ‘the feen’ Paul Tylak and ‘the beure’ Tara Flynn. Our favourite Corkman – author of last year’s best selling Bolloxology – will unpick the linguistic foibles that characterise this wordy nation of ours.

To help answer Colm’s questions he is joined by Trinity Scholar and novelist and ‘proper Dub’ Frankie Gaffney, writer of Dublin 7.

Listen to the podcast on iTunes and Player Fm. Don’t forget to subscribe for updates on future shows.
