So Ireland actually go through to the Eurovision final!
The most hyped up, over produced and much anticipated TV broadcasts of the year! Although the show has brought some of the greats to worldwide fame like Abba and Celine Dion, it has also brought to the world some of the most gut wrenching, cringy and just down right awful moments as well.
So looking back Grintage has decided to look back over the past few years and dig up some of the worst performances we could find. It was a painful job but someone had to do it.
Here our are top 5 worst Eurovision performances:
Homens Da Luta – Luta É Alegria (Portugal)
Besides looking like a Village people tribute act many accredited their failure to win the Eurovision due to a language barrier and people not understanding the “theme,” of their song. That or they’re terrible singers.. We’ll let you decide.
Jedward – Waterline (Ireland)
These pair of X- Factor rejects got to the opportunity to represent Ireland not only once but twice! This was their first performance and it’s hard to come up with a valid reason why they’re represented us again the following year.
Dustin The Turkey Irelande Douze Pointe (Ireland)
This by far has to be one of the most confusing acts to ever enter the Eurovision. Dustin the Turkey. Although from the lyrics most Irish people can gather it’s a piss take, unfortunately the rest of Europe didn’t see it as such and we were left quite red (or green) faced afterwards.
Aarzemnieki – Cake To Bake (Latvia)
Ever wondered how to bake a cake? Well this Eurovision entry tells you exactly how. You have to wonder how people ever thought this song was going to be a recipe for success in the Eurovision. And if you enjoy this well you can just go and b*** off
Donna and Joe McCaul – “Love?” (Ireland)
There’s plenty of competitors for the number one spot for Worst performances but we had to save it for the Irish Brother and Sister duet. We’ll let the video speak for itself.
