WATCH: Jo Brand is Damned

Jo Brand and Alan Davies star as stressed social workers struggling to keep control of their private lives and chaotic office.

In case there was any doubt that this is a dark comedy it opens with a voice message “Hello, what’s the recommended alcohol allowance for a 12-year-old?”. Social work for a children’s services department may seem like an odd choice for Brand to base a comedy on but she’s one to pick the unusual. Back in 2009 Brand created BBC 4 comedy Getting On which was based in a geriatric ward which turned out to be hilarious.

Jo’s mother was a social worker so we wonder did she get some material from her life experience?

The cast is full of familiar face such as Alan Davies, Kevin Eldon, Isy Suttie and even Irish stand-up Aisling Bea.
