Earlier in 2016 more than 30 Irish comedy writers and performers took to the stage at Dublin’s Project Arts Centre for Comedy Showhouse. They included Foil Arms & Hog, Karl Spain, Andrew Maxwell, Al Porter, The Nualas, Amy Huberman, Deirdre O’Kane, Fiona Looney, Paddy Cullivan and Colm O’Regan – whose show ‘CO’R Wants a Word’ won the PPI Award 2016 for Best Radio Comedy. Now later today Irish radio 1 listeners can enjoy an exclusive half hour with SEAN HUGHES – voted by his peers as one of the top 40 comedians everthe youngest winner of the Perrier Award; star of Sean’s Show (Ch4) and Ireland’s first stand up star – as he delivers an evening of first class comedy exploring his birth in London; early years in Ireland; his relationship with his family and the joys of turning 50.
