TV NEWS – RTÉ’s New Comedy Shows

RTE have announced the schedule for their forthcoming season. The new line-up include 65 new home-produced shows and amongst them we found some comedy highlights.

One of the most highly anticipated shows of the line up is comedy drama Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope. This is a six part female centred series produced by Deadpan Pictures – in another guise co-producer of Moone Boy for SKY.

RTÉ head of Comedy, Eddie Doyle said: Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope is a funny, engaging and realistic comedy-drama that explores the issues faced by young Irish women today. Starring, written, directed and produced by women, the show aims to capture what life is really like for young women as they navigate their way through all the drinking, dating and drama of their 20s.”

Other shows that may interest you comedy lovers include the Tommy Tiernan Show (below) which returns this time for a full 6 episodes with new surprise guests. Also returning for a second season is Bridget and Eamon and The Rubberbandits Guides (main pic).
