The 1993 classic film is becoming a musical.
One of our favourite childhood movies is set to become a Broadway musical. The film which was originally an adaption of the novel ‘Alias Madame Doubtfire’ by Anne Fine is now going to get the Jerry Zaks treatment. Zaks is the director behind the award-winning ‘Hello, Dolly!’ with Bette Midler. The adaption is going to be written by the creators of Something Rotten.
The producers said: “Mrs. Doubtfire is such a beloved story, both laugh-out-loud hilarious and extremely moving. Getting this team together and crafting Mrs. Doubtfire for the stage has been pure joy. We can’t wait to get into production.”
Wayne Kirkpatrick will be behind the music and lyrics. We are curious if he will work in the notorious Dude Looks Like A Lady dance scene?
Now the main question is who is going to take on the huge responsibility of playing the lead character, who of course was made famous by the late Robin Williams.
