Jamie Foxx’s ‘White Famous’ Comedy

Jay Pharoah will return to our TV screens with new comedy White Famous. 

Showtime announced at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour that it will be doing the new show starring Pharaoh.

The comedy is written by Tom Kapinos (Californication) based on an original idea by Jamie Foxx and his rise to fame.  Showtime will co-produce the show alongside Lionsgate Television.

This will mark the return of SNL alum Jay Pharaoh back to television who will play a talented comedian Floyd Mooney, who is is rising to fame. Throughout this journey he navigates through dangerous waters as he gets close to becoming ‘white famous’.



Jamie Foxx will star and be an executive producer on the show alongside Tom Kapinos. Other roles include Megalyn Echikunwoke who plays Floyd’s ex and mother of his son. The Mindy Projects Utkarsh Ambudkar plays Floyds agent who will push him to do whatever it takes. Jacob Ming-Trent, Lonnie Chavis and Stephen Tobolowsky also make an appearance on the pilot.


No premiere date has been set for White Famous yet.
