IS IRELAND FINALLY EMBRACING FOIL ARMS & HOG?

Judging by the 1000s of views of their #hashtag video on the grintage FB page we sense more and more comedy fans are waking up to FOIL ARMS and HOG TWITTER CLASSIC HERE

But the best news we have heard in ages … it seems also the country is finally catching on as FOIL ARMS & HOG EMBARK ON A NATIONAL TOUR …

FA & H were one of the reasons that grintage was established. We wanted to showcase and promote a wide selection of home grown ORIGINAL comedy writing and performing talent. It is a big world out there.

Dubbed by the critics as ‘Deliriously funny and at times unexpectedly dark’, Foil Arms and Hog are on the way and have done it through hard work so well deserved for three of the best comedy minds around. This is a gang, a unit and on stage a hoot. And they are also the freshest and tightest comedy script writers around.

They have over 4 million hits on Youtube, been heard on BBC4s Sketcharama and were awarded a five star review from the Irish Times for their latest live show.

Nominated in 2015 for Ireland’s best YouTube channel, check out their consistently brilliant videos. They write, produce, shoot and edit everything themselves. We only put up their Twitter classic earlier yesterday on the grintage FB page and you can see the impact – and in the US #hashtag caused a big controversy. Judge for yourselves – last year, on the Jimmy Fallon show, Jimmy and Justin Timberlake recorded a sketch known as ‘Hashtag’. The sketch has today over 15 million hits. However, a few eagle eyed US fans pointed out online that Foil Arms and Hog had done a very similar sketch the year previous. The story became the No.1 upvoted item on Reddit worldwide and was covered in national and international press. Imitation = flattery?

Five of their videos have recently been featured by the US comedy website Funny or Die, and three of them have gone ‘viral’ in the past year: One about ‘Renting in the City’ and the one with their most views to date “How To Speak Dublin” – again seen on the grintageireland.com.

At the Edinburgh Festival last year, the master of UK comedy Rowan Atkinson came to their show. He bought just one ticket “to the Irish sketch show” and gave a personal congratulation to each of them at the end.

Note – the trio perform before their official tour on Fri Feb 5th at Dublin’s Project Arts Centre. This show will be recorded live for RTE Radio 1 – tkts www.projectsartscentre.ie/comedyshowhouse

IRISH tour dates below – so no matter where you are you in Ireland you all know someone who lives close by. Rally your hometown, the rellies and family to go out and see true international stars in the making. FA & H are off on an extended Irish tour with a collection of sketches that are tight, loose, improvised and scripted in equal measure.

COMEDY FANS FROM KERRY TO BELFAST, WEXFORD TO GALWAY, CORK TO OMAGH ARE IN FOR A TREAT.

Be warned – after you see them you will be hooked!
