Aisling Bea has been cast in Amy Poehler’s new TV comedy I Feel Bad.
Aisling Bea is one of our favourite young Irish comedians. Raised in Kildare, she now is all over the comedy scene in London. She’s a stand up comedian and makes regular appearances on her appearances on comedy panel shows like 8 out of 10 Cats and QI. She doesn’t limit herself to just comedy though. Bea has had roles in crime thrillers such as The Fall and Hard Sun.
Just when you think she’s at the height of her career Bea has been cast in Amy Poehler’s new TV comedy. Amy Poehler is one of the most hilarious women on the planet! She was the star of Parks and Rec and worked on SNL of years. Now Poehler has created a new sitcom I Feel Bad for NBC.
It is based on the novel of the same name by Orli Auslander. It is said to use “dark humour and brutal honesty” as it follows a woman who tries to be the perfect mum, boss, wife, friend.
The description reads: “She feels bad when she has a sexy dream about someone other than her husband, or when she pretends not to know her kids when they misbehave in public, or when she uses her staff to help solve personal problems. But that’s OK, right? Nobody can have it all and do it perfectly.”
Bea is set to play Simone, the main character’s childhood friend who is described as the “encourager of all bad ideas.”. She will be a series regular.
She will star alongside Sarayu Blue, Paul Adelstein, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton and The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley.
