The classic old school detective Sherlock Holmes is being remade as a comedy with Will Ferrell and John C Reilly teaming up as Holmes and Watson respectively.
The Sherlock Holmes franchise is still huge with even the success of the recent Robert Downey Jnr and Jude Law films and apparently there’s a third on the way. Screen actors John Barrymore and Roland Young plus Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce have also starred as the detective duo. There is also TV versions such as BBC’s Sherlock and US series Elementary.
The comedic script for the film has been known to be been passed around Hollywood for 10 years. Etan Cohen, writer and director of Get Hard is said to take on the challenge and could be starting to shoot by the end of 2016.
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have starred alongside each other in 2006’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and again in 2008 for Step Brothers.
As you can see here to get the pair to work together they can make some crazy demands ….
