Comedy Reboot Roseanne Banned After Racial Slur

Popular TV show ‘Roseanne’ has been cancelled after star sends a racist tweet.

Roseanne is a reboot of it’s 1990’s show which stars Roseanne Barr playing a supporter of US President Donald Trump. As you can imagine the show is very popular among conservatives.

The US TV network ABC has just cancelled the show after Barr sent a racist tweet which caused public outrage.

In the Tweet, Roseanne described Valerie Jarrett, a onetime adviser to former president Barack Obama, as a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes.” Jarrett, who is black, was born in Iran to American parents.

Jimmy Kimmel has responded to this and has an idea that could make this work for everyone.

The tweet has since been deleted and Barr apologised saying it was a “bad joke”.

The sitcom actor said: ”I apologise to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” Barr tweeted. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me – my joke was in bad taste.”

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said in a statement.

Her agency has ended their contract with her.
