Here is your guide to some of the best LIVE comedy gigs to go see this April in Ireland.

And if you are a fan of Irish comedy watch out for some of these acts at major international comedy festivals around the world. And of course there are loads of local shows and residencies on too – check out our gig guide.

Most of the shows below are in Dublin but there is a few dotted around the country too!

April 1st

Tommy Tiernan – Everywhere

Kick off the month with the best of the best. This man is everywhere in 2017. On the 1st he will be in Westmeath but you can also nab him up North soon in Castleblayney, Omagh, Enniskillen, Cookstown and Newry. Some are sold out. Check www.tommytiernan.com

Foil Arms & Hog – Vicar Street

You may recognise these lads from their brilliant sketches on Youtube, TV, radio and touring around Ireland. The first show is sold out but you can get tickets for the 2nd or towards the end of the month on the 23rd or 29th. Not your typical stand up gig and one you won’t want to forget. Tickets €25.

8th April

David McSavage  – The Olympia

His new live show, A Sacred Cow, is another way at looking at all of the institutions and parts of life in Ireland that shape us. The Church, politicians, alcohol and celebrities, all come under scrutiny with a level of honesty & caustic wit. Not suitable for clergy, politicians, bankers and economists. Tickets are €26.

15 April

Deirdre O’Kane, Tullamore

Here’s treay for anybody in the midlands. Actor, recently tv presenter and organiser of the highly successful Paddy’s Day charity fundraiser in the 3 Arena. There isn’t much this woman can’t to and when it comes to comedy Deirdre O’Kane will make you cry with laughter. Tickets for her show in Tullamore are a bargain from €18.

20 – 23 April

Al Porter At Large – Vicar Street.

Al has your weekend sorted playing three nights in Vicar street. With stand up, sketch & song, an Al show is a fabulous night out ages 18 to 80 not to be missed! It’s feel good, naughty entertainment and a lot of fun!  Tickets €25.

Rose & Rosie – Vicar Street

That’s right…..British internet stars Rose Ellen Dix and Rosie Spaughton are bringing their online world to live audiences this spring, Talking about the tour, Rose & Rosie said: “Going on tour’s going to be incredible and we can’t wait for our live emotional breakdowns. Sharing that with fans makes us relatable and human, despite being a lot more famous than them.” Tickets €32.50.



28 April

Rubberbandits – Limerick

The Rubberbandits are an award winning theatre act who use a mixture of music, performance, video and social media to deliver ideas into peoples heads using their socially engaged artistic form known as Gas Cuntism. Distinctive for wearing plastic bag masks on their otherwise handsome heads, musical duo Blindboy Boat Club and Mr. Chrome started their career at the turn of the new millennium as prank phone callers in their native Limerick – and moved into comedy hip-hop a few years later.
