London’s most vibrant venue for new theatre, comedy and cabaret, Soho Theatre, is coming to the Cat Laughs.

There is so many brilliant acts and different shows to choose from  at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, it’s hard to even know here to begin. For a glimpse of what to expect from the comedy festival at the start of June click here. However if you are just going to pop by the festival or are just planning to go see one or two, we are here for you. Each week coming up to the festival we are going to pick out a few shows that catch our eye and recommend for you to go see.

Todays Kilkenny Cat Laughs pick is Soho Theatre.

With an unrivalled reputation for working with ground-breaking, edgy and unique talent, we’re bringing an unforgettable line up of what Soho has to offer to Kilkenny in June. This late night takeover will feature artists who push the boundaries of comedy to the most unexpected places.

Performing on the night is the Panti Bliss , Bourgeois and Maurice, Jayde Adams and Spencer Jones.

This will mark the Queen of Irelands debut performance at Cat Laughs. Panti stormed onto the international stage in 2014 with her devastating “Noble Call” and related “shitstorm”. The speech went viral, broadcast around the world – even remixed by the Pet Shop Boys – and was the basis of the award-winning Queen of Ireland documentary. Panti, who is now a cherished as a national cultural object, was once a creature of the fringes and leader avant garde of queer club performance in Dublin in the early 90s. Now she graces the stage of the Kilkenny, hosting similar such freaks and misfits in the Soho Theatre Cat Laughs.

Sequin-clad satirical weirdos Bourgeois & Maurice write songs that stick in your head like bloodstains in your nice new carpet.

“Musical comedy’s answer to the Manson family” – Evening Standard.

Fresh from an acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe and sell-out October run, BAFTA-nominated star Spencer Jones makes his Cat Laughs debut!

‘Spencer Jones has built one of the silliest, most consuming shows of the Fringe.’ ★★★★★ Times

Jayde Adams is “the future of British comedy” (Diva Magazine) “Britain’s funniest woman comic” (The Daily Mail) and “A fearless force of nature” (The Independent). After appearances in 8 out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, BBC2’s Gert Lush Christmas with Russell Howard, Sky1’s Sick Note with Nick Frost and Rupert Grint, and Channel 5’s Borderline, it’s safe to say that when Dawn French says “Jayde Adams is the 3rd funniest woman in the world. Fact,” she might just be onto something.
