Is White Chicks 2 Happening?

Is there going to be a sequel to the 2004 comedy classic White Chicks?

The synopsis of the first White Chicks is as follows:

Two FBI agent brothers, Marcus (Marlon Wayans) and Kevin Copeland (Shawn Wayans), accidentally foil a drug bust. As punishment, they are forced to escort a pair of socialites (Maitland Ward, Anne Dudek) to the Hamptons, where they’re going to be used as bait for a kidnapper. But when the girls realize the FBI’s plan, they refuse to go. Left without options, Marcus and Kevin decide to pose as the sisters, transforming themselves from African-American men into a pair of blonde, white women.

Since it’s release this crime comedy has gained a cult following and is one of those movies that’s quoted in an everyday conversation. Now, it looks like a sequel may be in the works.  While on the show TRL Marlon Wayans said he was in talks with his brothers about the sequel.

“Is White Chicks 2 happening anytime soon? I don’t know. But there’s been a lot of rumblings happening.

A lot of people want us to do it.

So me and my brothers have been talking. So if things go right, we hope to do a White Chicks 2.”

While this may be great for some, will this new movie ruin the name of the first?

One fan exclaimed: ‘Nooooooo, leave it alone. First one is a classic and we don’t need a disappointment lol’

Vannick Douglas said:

No, please don’t. There’s too much creative within their family to warrant a sequel over something fresh.

That brand of humor doesn’t work in 2018 and given the track record of every comedy sequel, it’s very difficult to top the original.

Cody Ray Morales wrote:

After so many years? Idk man, it might be trash at this point if not, I’ll eat my words.

On the other hand, Jessica Hawkins said:

If the main characters are willing to do it and the first movie made great ratings, there’s definitely a high chance for this to happen. I really hope they do.
