Russell Brand is the latest comedian to launch a comedy special on Netflix. The streaming service has become renowned for its comedy specials hosting shows from some of the best comedians in the world.
The British comedian is recording two live shows at the Hackney Empire in London on April 18th and 19th. These shows will be called “Re:Birth.” At the moment he is in the middle of a 75 show tour which runs until November 2018.
A lot of the material for the show stems from the birth of his daughter Mabel in November 2016.
“What am I going to tell my daughter about conformity and responsibility? What happens if she grows up to be like me? Or, worse, to date someone like me?”
“All the glamour of ‘The Crown’ (and some of the controversy) with the suspense of ‘Making A Murderer’ BUT with a happy ending,” he joked about the show on Twitter. “It’s 9 hours long. And the pyrotechnics are dazzling.”
