We Remember Adam West: ‘He knew comedy, and he knew humanity’

Last week 1960s “Batman” Adam West passed away.

After a short battle with leukemia, Adam west died at the age of 88 in Los Angeles.

He was known as the Caped Crusader in the 1960’s Batman. Check out his best bits as the super hero below.

In more recent years he was known amongst the younger generations as Mayor Adam West in Family Guy.

“I had done a pilot with Seth that he had written for me. It turned out we had the same kind of comic sensibilities and got along well,” he said in a 2012 interview. “When Family Guy came around and Seth became brilliantly successful, he decided to call me and see what I was doing. He asked if I would like to come aboard as the mayor, and I thought it would be neat to do something sort of absurd and fun.”

“Family Guy has lost its mayor, and I have lost a friend,” MacFarlane wrote. “Adam West was a joy to work with. … His positivity, good nature, and sense of fun were undeniable.”

Mark Hamill, who voiced the Joker in “Batman: The Animated Series” remembered West as “a wonderful actor [and] so kind.”

Greg Berlanti, producer of comic book adaptations of “Supergirl,” “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Riverdale,” thanked West for being a “hero.”
