Netflix: Master of None Season 2

The highly anticipated Master Of None season 2 is coming to Netflix May 12.

The first series of the comedy series created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang was released in 2015 and has had huge success since with even a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It is loosely based on Ansari’s real-life experiences. He plays the role of Dev, a New York-based actor who is struggling to identify what he really wants, both personally and professionally. The series reveals glimpses of Dev’s younger years, and explores current aspects of his life, including modern etiquette (regarding texting and social media), and being young and single in the city. Other important people in Dev’s life are featured, including Dev’s dad, played by Ansari’s actual father. Watch the trailer below for season one:

Season 2 catches us with Dev after traveling abroad, he returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.

With the first show being so popular the fans have found the wait difficult for some new episodes. Aziz explains why the new season took so long. “This show isn’t the type of show where we’re going to be able to just turn around and turn it in right away,” he said. “We covered so much stuff in season one and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in season two were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious. So we took a long break, and that’s why season two hasn’t come out yet.”

“The show was so personalised, we dumped our heads into this, we just needed to be people and live our actual life,” Ansari said.
