The National Television Awards took place in the London 3Arena on January 15th.
Graham Norton won the award for special recognition but he’s not taking it home yet. Backstage he confessed that there was some one forgot to thank: “This lovely award will turn to hell because as I was walking off I thought, ‘Oh my God I forgot to thank my mother’, so what I need to be doing is phone her and build some bridges.”

Mrs Brown’s Boys won the best comedy programme, fending off competition from The Big Bang Theory, Benidorm and Orange Is The New Black. Sir Ken Dodd presented the award and mistakingly mentioned the show twice which Brendan O’Carroll pulled him up on.
O’Carroll, joined by the cast and crew said: “Thank you so much, we’re all here … thank you Sir Ken, to be nominated twice in the same category is amazing, we so appreciate it. Thank you so much to all of you who voted, it’s really important that you vote, this is the most important award we get. It’s very, very exciting and very humbling. Thanks to the BBC and everyone involved.”
