Gig News: Edwin Sammon Vs Cancer

After 10 years performing stand up, Irish comic Edwin Sammon has established himself as one of the most popular acts in the country.

His unpredictable and immensely likable style saw audiences award him the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck in 2011 for best comedian and led to him supporting the likes of Jason Byrne, Fred Cooke and Ardal O’Hanlon on their nationwide tours. Edwin has also been solidly building new fans at every major festival in the country and comedy clubs across Ireland and the U.K. In 2013 he was part of the sold out nationwide “Lads Of Comedy” tour. Now gaining more fans in his role as Fr. Gabriel in RTE’s popular sitcom “Bridget and Eamon” and as Co- Presenter on “Republic Of Telly”, he is bringing his first stand up special on a nationwide tour.

The new show Edwin Sammon vs Cancer is based around finding the funny in a very serious situation. Ed also explores his early life growing up in Co. Offaly in middle Ireland and examines how we react to serious illness & death. He also highlights the benefits of drugs and how being close to death makes you appreciate the small pleasures of life and his grand plans for the future.

Here’s what others think!
