Green Nose Day: Comic Relief in Ireland

The top comedians in Ireland are coming together for a live charity telethon on St Patricks Day.

The hilarious Deirdre O’Kane is organising the event which is set to take place in Dublin’s 3Arena. In 2014 Deirdre played the role of Dubliner Christina Noble who is a street kids campaigner in the film ‘Noble’.  This role spurred the comedian into taking action and she came up with Green Nose Day.  She says: “I just want to thank so many of my fellow comics for agreeing to it. It’s a reaction to Aleppo and our own homeless crisis.”

We are told the line up will be announced later the this week but comedy giants such as Dara O’Briain and Patrick Kielty are rumoured to be taking part.

Like the U.Ks charity event Re Nose Day, it will split all the money raised 50/50 between humanitarian projects abroad and Irish charities.

Money raised will go towards Syria and similar war torn areas
