“It’s probably one of the craziest things we’ve ever done, and we almost started a war” – says Seth Rogan
His new raunchy film (opening in Ireland this summer) is the 1st ever R Rated Pixar style movie and bound to cause arguments amongst the younger folk and parents this summer why they cannot go and see it. The story is about a sausage’s quest to discover the truth about its existence along with other supermarket foods. An Irish potato even features breaking out into Danny Boy before nearing its death. Watch the full promo at the bottom of the post.
From the writers of Superbad and Pineapple Express and the guys who brought who This is the End and Bad Neighbours, the voices are done by some of today’s top comedy stars including Kristen Wig, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, James Franco and many more!
Watch Seth Rogen talk about his attempt to scare children of food.
The humble Irish spud takes centre stage in the first trailer released for Seth Rogan’s adult animation, Sausage Party. Be warned, this is no ordinary spud and the trailer is definitely for older audiences.
The clip begins like any cutsey Pixar movie, featuring brightly coloured food packages in a supermarket begging to be brought home by shoppers.
Rogan voices Frank, a hot dog who learns the devastating truth about food after being sold at the grocery store.
Frank is forced to witness his friends being eaten, and he must survive untold kitchen horrors and life in the freezer as he battles to get back to the shop to warn everyone of their fate.
The various food items, including a humble Irish spud, may look like Toy Story characters, however, the script is very different, with the potato’s blissful shelf life coming to an abrupt end when the woman who brings him home starts to skin him alive.
“The pipes the pipes are calling,” he sings with a very dodgy Oirish lilt (for some other bad Irish accent fails click here). But he soon start spouting expletives when she attacks him with a potato peeler.
“Oh Jesus, oh f***, she’s peelin me f***in’ skin!” Definitely not for younger viewers!
Paul Rudd, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Workaholics star Anders Holm also all lend their voices to Sausage Party.
The film hits Irish cinemas September 2nd, 2016 – and please before you arrange the kid’s party – Toy Story it is not!
