Those who have seen it say that it is very good, however trying to find a copy of Dead Cat Bounce’s first film Discoverdale is surprisingly pretty difficult. Well, the wait is finally over…if you live in Japan.
The film charts the members of comedy rock group Dead Cat Bounce as they attempt to reunite one of their members with his long-lost father (possibly Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale). Criss-crossing across Europe the members of Dead Cat Bounce follow the Whitesnake tour to try and reunite family and forge new friendships. The Irish Times said it’s “an absolute hoot that deserves its imminent cult status” so if you’re in Japan and looking for a Christmas present for the fan of Irish comedy that they can’t get anywhere else…well, now you know what to buy.
Dead Cat Bounce was formed from the ashes of Trinity College sketch group H-Bam (a larger group which including comedian Aisling Bea) and went on to global success, playing every festival and televised gala you can name. Sadly, they disbanded in 2013 after some stand out sell live comedy tours; ambitious theatrical shows; their own RTE pilot plus releasing brilliant comedy songs and viral videos, such as:
