Close to 100,000 likes for this Limerick born comedian …

In the past Karl Spain has wanted a woman, wanted to rock and wanted to be Ireland’s best new comedian (NB – he succesfully did all three).  Karl is currently building up a solid UK fan base as special guest on Kevin Bridge’s 40 date tour performing to nearly 100,000 people including a sold week of shows recently at Dublin’s Olympia theatre.  The biggest audience on any night was 17,000! That tour ends with 2 shows later this week in Warwick University on December 11th and 12th. The day after Karl is heading to Galway for the Roisin Dubh Xmas Party. He’ll be joined by local comedian Steve Bennett, learner driver Fred Cooke and some secret special guests (clue: they are Ireland’s favourite three piece sketch group who don’t do stuff on the telly about football) for some festive shenanigans.

You may remember Karl from when he won the RTE Award for Best New Act in 2000. Since then the Limerick-born comic has gone on to more TV work, toured the world and this year he made his solo Edinburgh Festival debut and also co-wrote a panto this year starring Al Porter.
